Good News!

While I finish my next novella ('The Trip to Montana', to be published on the blog later this week), I cannot wait to announce that Clyde is going to be baptized a week from Saturday! He had his interview with Bishop Summers yesterday, and it's all set up for Saturday, August 5th at 9 AM. For those of you who are local and would like to be there, it will be at the Stake Center. Call or email me and I'll give you directions. I'm going to try and have a little open house or something afterward. We'll see. For those of you (local or not) who are not LDS, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints baptizes their youth at eight years old. Clyde's eighth birthday is Thursday the 27th of July, and he has requested ON HIS OWN to be baptized. I am totally thrilled. I thought, originally, that it was because his friends were all turning eight and going to do it too, but then I discovered that most of his very good friends are not LDS. Go figure. He hadn't even heard about baptism from any of them at all. I guess I'm a better teacher than I thought I was. Anyway, more to come on that. Just had to share it with everyone.
